It was great,everything was perfect

Erik Beer / Ramblas Building 5-6
From Dec-30, 2009 Until Jan-01, 2010
We had a very pleasant stay at the Ramblas apartment. The two bedroom apartment was very clean. The living room was fairly spacious for a European apartment with a large kitchen table and L-shaped couch which easily slept our 5th person. The apartment also has its own lift, and the doors had really nice security locks giving us peace in mind when leaving travel gear and money in the apartment. Hardwood floors and "IKEA" type furnishing gave the apartment a modern yet comfortable feel. The location really couldn't be much better for Barcelona. Centrally located to the Barri Gothic for old city sites, shopping, and restaurants. 1 minute walk from La Rambla, 5 minutes to tourist information, and only 10 minutes to the Picasso museum. The metro is less than a 5 minute walk on La Rambla, and is the best bet for hitting Guadi attractions on the other side of the city. The green L3 line will take you to most all recommended city attractions, including the main train station. Airport transport was easily done on city bus for a few Euro, or $30 cab (bus was simple). The apartment is surrounded by "local" restaurants offering high quality food at more affordable prices than the touristy Rambla. Our host was very nice and offered his local restaurant favorites which were very good and reasonably priced. I would rent this apartment again and would not hesitate in recommending it to my friends or family.

The location in "Barceloneta" was super, and near to the sea. The staff was also very good he waited for us at the metro station to show us how to walk to the appartement. For the price we paid it was good to stay in San Miquel 1.

Walter Wagner / Vila Joiosa
From Apr-11, 2009 Until Apr-12, 2009
Loved both the location and feel of our apartment on Vila Joiosa in the Barceloneta section of Barcelona. Right next to the beach. The apartment was clean and well furnished with both a 2 person bed and a small but adequate terrace where wet clothes could be hung out to dry. Overall it had everything we wanted and needed and I would recommend it to anyone (especially and beachgoers!) Really perfect.

Barbara Bos / Baluart

All apartments I´ve stayed in were good. Price/quality is good. If you want to cook yourself most of them did miss some stuff. And in autumn and winter and maybe spring, it should have more blankets.

Barcelona where to stay

Where to Stay In Barcelona

Barcelona- home to many forest parks, urban parks, theme parks, and historic parks- is the capital of Catalonia and one of the most interesting places to visit.  With its rich history and a booming modern industry combined, Barcelona is easily one of the most happening places to be in.

Because it is a popular tourist spot, Barcelona natives are very used to the pace of life that can rival the biggest cities in the world.  Yet, one marvels as to how this city still keeps its traditions.  Do not be surprised if you find yourself in awe of their fashion fiestas and other cultural activities that go on alongside international food fests and lively night life.

The many places you can visit when in Barcelona call for the best places to stay at, not only in terms of service and accommodations but also in the location of the hotels and inns.  Luxury hotels are abundant as well as mid-level inns and smaller hotels whose prices can fit to a smaller budget.

Barcelona is a well-known tourist destination and as such, all hotels are used to having foreign guests around.  This ensures that all your needs will be met to the best of the hotel staff's greatest abilities. The rooms are air-conditioned so that tired guests can take refuge from the heat, there are health clubs and spas, car rentals, shuttles to and from airports and guided tours that can help you find your way around the city.

Restaurants in hotels and all over the city offer international menus so you would not have to feel uncomfortable not knowing the dishes served.  However, part of the charm of Barcelona is in their native dishes and delicacies so do not leave this city without trying home-grown dishes.

Here are some of the best hotels this part of Catalonia:

Hotel Montecarlo comes highly recommended from travelers and tourists because it is located in a great spot accessible to many places of interest.  Rooms are designed with a modern twist and guests can marvel at the uniquess of the designs.  Most guests also gush at the comfort offered by this hotel and the excellent service from the personnel.  The average rate for this hotel is around 250 dollars.

Casa Camper Hotel Barcelona is also one of the places highly recommended and its average price is about 280 dollars.  They have a small café that is open all day and all night, perfect for the tourist who has not gotten used to the change in time zone just yet.

For tourists looking for the best deals, you can stay at Hotel L'Antic Espai which looks like a quaint traditional inn that you would go to for comfort and coziness.  At just 124 dollars, you can enjoy authentic Barcelona and relax after a day's adventures.

Villa Emilia in the meanwhile, is quite the contrast to Hotel L'Antic Espai's design; Villa Emilia is modern-looking and for those who are looking for a contemporary 4-star hotel, this would be the best choice.

There are other hotels and small inns in Barcelona that can really be suitable for you.  You can find more information on them and even book online in advance (highly recommended to book in advance) for a great stay in this amazing city.
