All apartments I´ve stayed in were good. Price/quality is good. If you want to cook yourself most of them did miss some stuff. And in autumn and winter and maybe spring, it should have more blankets.

Erik Beer / Ramblas Building 5-6
From Dec-30, 2009 Until Jan-01, 2010
We had a very pleasant stay at the Ramblas apartment. The two bedroom apartment was very clean. The living room was fairly spacious for a European apartment with a large kitchen table and L-shaped couch which easily slept our 5th person. The apartment also has its own lift, and the doors had really nice security locks giving us peace in mind when leaving travel gear and money in the apartment. Hardwood floors and "IKEA" type furnishing gave the apartment a modern yet comfortable feel. The location really couldn't be much better for Barcelona. Centrally located to the Barri Gothic for old city sites, shopping, and restaurants. 1 minute walk from La Rambla, 5 minutes to tourist information, and only 10 minutes to the Picasso museum. The metro is less than a 5 minute walk on La Rambla, and is the best bet for hitting Guadi attractions on the other side of the city. The green L3 line will take you to most all recommended city attractions, including the main train station. Airport transport was easily done on city bus for a few Euro, or $30 cab (bus was simple). The apartment is surrounded by "local" restaurants offering high quality food at more affordable prices than the touristy Rambla. Our host was very nice and offered his local restaurant favorites which were very good and reasonably priced. I would rent this apartment again and would not hesitate in recommending it to my friends or family.

The location in "Barceloneta" was super, and near to the sea. The staff was also very good he waited for us at the metro station to show us how to walk to the appartement. For the price we paid it was good to stay in San Miquel 1.

Great location just off the beach, very friendly and helpful staff.

Only negative of the place was that the hot water ran out fairly quickly. But still I'm happy with the place and the price we paid.

Flat is situated very nice, close to sea and in walking distance to city center.

Walter Wagner / Vila Joiosa
From Apr-11, 2009 Until Apr-12, 2009
Loved both the location and feel of our apartment on Vila Joiosa in the Barceloneta section of Barcelona. Right next to the beach. The apartment was clean and well furnished with both a 2 person bed and a small but adequate terrace where wet clothes could be hung out to dry. Overall it had everything we wanted and needed and I would recommend it to anyone (especially and beachgoers!) Really perfect.

Holiday Apartment Accommodation in Barcelona

When planning a vacation to Barcelona, you will want to have the best sleeping accommodations as you can possibly get.  No matter where you visit for your holiday, the place you lay your head, can make or break your holiday.  Everyone knows that when you travel to Barcelona, one of the most costly things can be finding good accommodations.

Many people think of the most common type of accommodations in the USA such as hotels.  But believe it or not, hotels are not always the best choice to go with when in Barcelona like it may be in the states.  One of the best things that you can do for yourself when planning a holiday in Barcelona is to go with accommodations in apartments Barcelona. There really is no better way to make the most out of your holiday.

The key to getting the most out of your holiday is to budget your spending and there really is no better way to do that then by going with a rental apartment.  There are many people who will rent out apartment accommodations to those on a holiday for a fraction of the cost you would spend on a hotel and restaurants combined.  We all know how costly it can get to eat out while on a holiday and this is why having your own apartment in Barcelona while on a holiday makes so much sense.

If you were to add up the cost of meals and sleeping quarters in various settings, you will find that this can get costly if you have to spend most of your meals in restaurants.  You will have breakfast, lunch and dinner not to mention the snacking in between.  If you have your own apartment to replace in while on a holiday, you can prepare and eat any or all of your meals right in the comfort of your own little home away from home.  This perk alone can save you a ton of time and money that you can be using elsewhere in your holiday plans.

If you are planning a holiday to Barcelona, then you will want to look into all of your options such as camping, hotels, and holiday apartments.  While camping or hotels may seem like a cheaper way to go there are many factors to consider before you make your final choice.  These factors should include such things as accommodations that you will have to share with others, others that you will not know.  With camping and even hotels, you will most likely have to share the bathroom facilities and you will have to eat out or cook at your campsite.  Either way this can become an inconvenience.  It will cost you time and privacy, which can take its toll on your holiday.  The best way to go is to look into rentals Barcelona. You will be glad you have your own space to come and go as you please and to eat what you want, when you want.

Accommodation Bargains in Barcelona

Before you even set foot in Barcelona, you must book your Barcelona accommodation in advance preferably through a reputable online reservation site.  The city is a tourism hub in Catalonia the whole year-round, which means that winging it may not be advisable although it is adventurous.  Well, other kinds of adventure in Barcelona are just around the corner so there is no need to be adventurous on your accommodations.

From High-End to Low-End

By virtue of it being a tourism hub, Barcelona offers many types of accommodations from the high-end deluxe hotels in the city center to the low-end hostels in the outlying areas.  Visitors are pleasantly surprised to note that even the priciest hotels in Barcelona are still relatively affordable than similar hotels in Paris and London.

You can just imagine the bargains on the lower-end hostels!  However, if you want to balance the comforts, conveniences and privacy of an expensive hotel room with the budget-friendly trait of an affordable bunk bed in a hostel, then go for a holiday apartment booked online. There is luxury and cheap accommodation in Barcelona. This is especially true if you are traveling as a group where eating out frequently is a luxury on a budget.

It must also be emphasized that, save for the siesta hours, the noise level of Barcelona streets may come as a shock to visitors expecting a laidback city.  Fortunately, many of the hotels have seen the merit of installing soundproof devices in their rooms to counteract said noise levels.  Better yet, go for the holiday apartments situated well away from the hustle and bustle of the city but near enough to the attractions.

From Barri Gotic to the Seafront

Undoubtedly, Barcelona is a big city, the second largest in Spain, in fact.  As such, you are sure to find some sort of accommodations on land as well as near the waters of the Mediterranean.

Let's start with the Barri Gotic - that's the Gothic Quarter to us.  Visitors will find that the place is filled with budget-friendly hostales and guesthouses offering a variety of amenities.  You can live on less in these areas since the food is also very affordable and very delicious.  Add in the fact that it is near the sights worth seeing in Barcelona and you have just saved yourself more than a few euros on accommodation and transportation.

If you want more modern but definitely more expensive Barcelona vacation rentals, the Eixample district is the place to be.  The façade of the buildings are from the 19thcentury with the plumbing and elevators of the same vintage, which makes for an adventure into the past.  Still, the area is known to be safe for people so your room may be well worth the price.  Just remember to choose a room away from the streets if you want some peace and quiet during the day and night.

There are other areas in Barcelona offering accommodations like the Sants and Placa Espanya, the Gràcia area and the seafront.  No matter what you choose, you are guaranteed to get the warm service Catalans are known for providing to their guests.
