Nightlife in Barcelona Often Lasts until Morning
With a population of over four million people, Barcelona, Spain ranks as the second largest city in the country. Due to its significance in areas such as commerce, the arts, finance, and international trade, Barcelona has become a modern global city. In fact, this Spanish city has expanded into a major tourist destination for European tourists, with an extremely active nightlife.

Like many other major cities throughout Europe, Barcelona has an active nightlife. Before spending a night on the town, it's important to get an overall feel for a typical night on the town, in Spain. Firstly, you should know that dinner is served significantly later than "standard" dinnertimes: roughly 9:00 AM! Afterwards, it's customary to meet friends for drinks (alcoholic or otherwise) at around 11:00 PM. Then people typically hit the dance floor at around 2:00 AM. While many bars close at 3:00, you can still find discotheques that stay open after that. As the sun starts to rise, the tradition in Barcelona is to eat churros (Spanish doughnuts) that you dip into a thick hot chocolate.
After staying in Barcelona for a short time, you'll quickly learn that it's a place where sleep is in short supply. Many foreigners will likely be shocked to learn that nightclubs are often open from 1:00 AM or 2:00, and stay open until roughly 6:00! So it's crucial for you to take your siesta during the daytime, and then take another nap before going out. But once you're ready to go out on the town, you'll quickly learn that the city is friendly and lively.
Nightclubs remain one of the best ways to enjoy your nightlife in Barcelona. While you can find several traditional nightclubs in the city, there are also increasingly more "lounge" type clubs, which allow you to recline while enjoying your tasty beverage.
Of course, one of the most crucial questions is: how much will the nightclubs cost you? Many clubs don't have a fixed price, and vary based which night it is, who's performing at the club, and so on. In fact, you can forego the cover charge of many clubs, if you get there before 1:00 AM or so. Also, look for nightclubs' flyers, which are available in shops, cafes, and bars. These flyers provide you with benefits such as drink specials or even a free drink!
Besides nightclubs, you can find a host of other places to enjoy your nightlife in Barcelona, such as bars, cafes, and restaurants. If you have some down-time before the nightlife is in full swing, why not take a stroll along the beach? It's a fantastic way to pass the time.
When choosing accommodations for your Barcelona vacation, make sure to consider booking a holiday apartment online. They're an affordable and convenient way to enjoy your stay in the major Spanish city.
